The Girl They Call Nix

Some years ago—2018, maybe?—I had an idea for a story. I wrote prologue, all of about three pages, and… poof! Nothing happened. I didn’t know where to go from there. I had an idea of where I wanted it to end up, but that depended in another story I started, wrote a few pages… and poof! Nothing happened with it either.

It’s kind of a pattern: idea, write… write… write a bit more and… poof! It’s happened more times than I like to admit, but you’ll see me doing just that here (or the Favored Few of you will). Anyway…

When I discovered AI could do video that… well, didn’t totally suck, I wanted to try something and this came to mind as something to try. It’s a trailer for that story I thought of about seven years ago now, based on the prologue I wrote back then.

I thought I’d post it here as the first AI video I did that was more than 10 seconds long. I suspect you can tell it’s the first. Hopefully, I’ve improved but you’ll have to wait to find out.

Anyway, what do you think? (Yes, I know it has flaws and what might be called continuity issues, because I didn’t know how to deal with those then. Go ahead and point them out if you want. Maybe I missed something?) What I’d really like to know is: does this work as a trailer? Would you maybe be interested in reading this story? Should I wipe of the (notional) cobwebs and work on it again?

Or was I right to let it go poof?
