Horo Taka’s Meeting with the Pirates 🔒

Hi!

I’m back with my latest video effort! Although this site still needs 3 things done before it’s 100%, it’s so, So, SO nice to get back to doing videos! And this is the result! 😂

Yeah, this one was a challenge! I think I ran more clips for this one for it’s length (just over 7 minutes) than any other? I dunno… I lost count! It did take most of a week and almost a full months of credits, though! 😅

See if you think it was worth the effort! 😂

To catch you all up, this video is from near the end of Dreams of Summer, the second book of The Gem Bright Year. I’ve posted 3 videos that come before from this book: the trip to the Shrine (the sexy one I’m gonna fix up), How Shinotori became Horo Taka (my favorite!), and “Why is there not an empty land…”, which I posted just over a week ago.

After “Why is there not an empty land…”, Horo Taka receives orders to travel to a remote but important province with her band of “operatives” (swiping a term 😉) to help the governor deal with an uprising. After  doing so, instead of being able to stay in the capital and continue her clandestine relationship with Lady Kiyohara, she is immediately sent to an outer island to negotiate with a powerful pirate chieftain in hopes of persuading him to accept an offer from the emperor to cease his activities and crackdown on the other pirates who are preying on trade with the “Western Lands” (Korea).

For those who are interested in such things, the unnamed (fictionalized) island she is sent to is Tsushima, which was a major haven pirates in the 1300s (or thereabouts) and the location of the really famous naval battle that ended the Russo-Japanese war.

This video begins 4 days after she and her men arrive on the island. You can see how her meeting with the pirate chief goes… 😊

  1. Wow!!! I think this is your most impressive video to date! Super-amazing!!! The verbal showdown between Horo Taka and the pirate chief was great! And I loved the wuxia element you threw into the sword fight when she floated in that one shot 🙂 Also, the sheer white dress she wears is very alluring. Amazing job!!!

    1. Wow!!! Super-Wow!!! That’s such amazingly high praise!!!! 😄

I didn’t know the term “wuxia” but that’s super-cool! I really liked that she floats in the air too, but my favorite part is that the guys in the background all see it and zoom off in a hurry! It’s like they’re saying: “Holy shit! Run away! Run away!” 🤣

Thank you! I though that was appropriate attire for their “negotiation.” Dude should’ve taken the offer. But he had to FAFO! 🤣

Thank you so super-duper much!!! Now I just gotta figure out the other videos for this book… 😆😊

  2. Wow, Robin, it’s always worth the wait with you. What a video—you outdo yourself time and again; it’s fantastic. And what a beautiful, dangerous woman—who could resist her? Not me. I’d lay down my arms immediately—or defend her. 😍 😍 💗 💗 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹

    1. Yay!!! I’m so very glad it was worth the wait! Yes, I have to agree she’s a quite exceptional person! Thank you more than I can say for all your wonderful comments and awesome support! 😄

  3. Unfortunate I have not been able to follow for a number of weeks. This was a nice thing to return to. I enjoyed the video as it presented depth and a slightly different view of Horo’s capabilities. Seductively deadly! Quite a depth of diversity. As always it is a pleasure to read and view your work. Hope life is treating you kindly. Regards from Texas!

    1. Thank you more than I can say! So thrilled you enjoyed the video! This one was a stretch! But I really enjoyed doing it!
I hope things calm down for you. You deserve every happiness. Life has been good here. Summer isn’t my favorite season but I’m making the best of it! 😄
