Remember that message Lady Shinotori delivered to the the pirate chieftain? It’s not revealed in the video and even if you’re really good at lip reading (and AI lip-sync probably isn’t that good) there not enough to see the whole message. But there was a message, and here it is!

The pirate chieftain laughed off Shinotori’s threat in the original video. If she had actually said what she did in this clip, I’m sure that he wouldn’t laugh. Here, though, she just looks like a sexy court lady, so I doubt that he would have taken her seriously, unless he was aware that she was also knows as Horo Taka and had a reputation for being death incarnate. Would a Heian court lady really have used such crude language?
Oh, I think that’s definitely true! 😂 Of course, in the context of the video, she delivered a nice diplomatic offer. But I needed a video clip of her speaking and obviously couldn’t resist! Too much fun!!! 🤣
And a Heian court lady probably wouldn’t? I can’t see Murasaki Shikibu say that! 😆 But then, Shinotori was raised in a rural community where things would’ve been more “earthy” and maybe she’d talk to a pirate in language he’d understand? 🤣
But whichever, in the end, she did get her point across (about “cease and desist”), I think? 😄
In the end, he understood that Shinotori wasn’t just a court lady. An iron fist in a velvet glove. As Shakespeare said: “He (or she) who laughs last, laughs best.”
